Europe is now working on an ambitious strategy to become the first climate-neutral continent. On the backdrop of the EU Green Deal and the renewing of the Urban Agenda for the EU, the aim is to ensure liveability, prosperity, and well-being for all.
To move from strategy to reality, experts and policy makers must work hand in hand with neighbourhoods, towns, municipalities, cities and urban areas. Urban transformation is key!
JPI Urban Europe is ready to establish as the research and innovation hub for urban transitions and is working with the European Commission on a longer-term programme called “Driving Urban Transitions to a Sustainable Future”. We know that it takes all types of urban actions for the needed shifts to be realised. That is why we are happy to invite you to join us into this next phase on the journey towards a sustainable future and explore the next steps at the JPI Urban Europe Policy Conference on November 12, 2020, online.
The conference will focus on how to make global strategies into local action by focusing on:
- How does sustainable urban development contribute to international policies?
- What are the next steps to ensure capacity-building and mobilisation of Research and Innovation in cities?
- How do we best enhance and support replication, mainstreaming and scaling up?
Meet change makers, researchers and urban actors and explore the next steps at the JPI Urban Europe Policy Conference on November 12, 2020.
Together we will define the next steps on how to bring research into action, make urban change happen and boost the urgently needed urban transformations!
This conference was initally planned to take place in Brussels but will due to the circumstances be organised as a virtual or hybrid event. We are closely following the COVID19 developments and recommendations on in-person events and will get back promptly with more information on the conference format.
