Jeannette Frey,
ordförande LIBER

Born April 13, 1962, in Kirchberg, BE, Switzerland. Studied Ancient History, Archaeology and Egyptology at University of Fribourg, Switzerland, then worked in the field of academic publishing at Redaction LIMC (Lexicon Iconographicum Mythologiae Classicae) in Basel. 1992-1998, Head of Photographic Collection of the Swiss national museum in Zurich, first experiences in digitization of photographic collections. 1998-2002, Head of the Federal Archive for Historic Monuments in Bern, where she leads other digitization projects of photographic collections. 2002-2004, Head of Information & Communication in the private sector and in parallel studies of Computer Science and Mathematics at University of Fribourg. 2004-2008 Head of Journals and E-Resources at BCU Lausanne. Director of BCU Lausanne since 2008, member of the Board of SWITCH since 2016, President of Renouvaud libraries network since 2016, President of LIBER since 2018, member of the EOSC Executive Board as an observer since 2020.

 

Michael Markie,  
Director of Publishing, F1000

Michael Markie is the Publishing Director for F1000 Research. He is an open science, open data and open research advocate leading F1000’s effort to change the way science is communicated. He played a pivotal role in devising the open research publishing model and launching F1000Research in 2013, and now oversees the development of the publishing platform services F1000 provide for leading funders and institutions such the European Commission, Wellcome and Bill and Melinda Gates Foundation. Michael is an active member of the open science community and gives many talks/seminars/workshops on the subject at international conferences and research institutions. Michael previously studied Chemical Biology at the University of Leeds, where he worked on synthesising a range of potential anti-tumour compounds.

 

Björn Nystedt, Head of Unit,   National Bioinformatics Infra- structure (NBIS) at SciLifeLab

Björn Nystedt has a long experience in comparative genomics and de novo genome assembly from many different organisms, ranging from small bacterial and fungal genomes to massive plant genomes. He has a PhD (2009) in Molecular Evolution focusing on gene and genome dynamics in host-adapted bacteria. After his PhD, Björn was hired to the SciLifeLab genomics platform in Stockholm when it started in 2010, handling workflows and data delivery as well as advanced bioinformatics user support. In particular, he led the sequencing and assembly of the 20 Gbp Norway spruce (Picea abies) genome, which was the largest genome sequenced in the world at the time. Since 2013, Björn has been the Head of Unit for the NBIS Bioinformatics Long-term Support team at SciLifeLab, leading a team 25 senior bioinformatics staff members across six universtities, engaged in about 60-80 large-scale omics projects across the country. As part of NBIS, Björn is engaged in questions aroung FAIR data handling and Reproducible Research.

Jade Khalife, MD, MPH, MSc.

Jade has a background in medicine, health policy and management, and epidemiology. He has been involved in activities on NCDs since 17 years, and in health systems since 12 years. His interests and involvements include hospital and primary healthcare performance, healthcare reform, tobacco control, healthcare evaluation and strategic planning. He has been involved with the Lebanese Ministry of Public Health since 2009, and various health-focused NGOs and UN agencies, including WYDO.org, ZeroCovidLB.com and Endcoronavirus.org. Jonas Björk,
generaldirektör FORTE

Jag är GD för FORTE sedan april i år och kommer närmast från Utbildningsdepartementet där jag var departementsråd och chef för den forskningspolitiska enheten i drygt fyra år.
I mitt uppdrag som departementsråd ingick bl.a. att vara huvudman (ansvarig för myndighetsstyrningen) för ett antal myndigheter som Kungl. Biblioteket  och Vetenskapsrådet. Jag har också jobbat med policyutvecklingen för öppen tillgång inom ramen för mitt uppdrag på departementet. Innan departementet jobbade jag under en lång period på Vetenskapsrådet bl.a. som chef för den forskningsfinansierande verksamheten men också som chef för avdelningen för forskningspolitik. Jag är disputerad kvartärgeolog från Stockholms universitet och har mina rötter i nordligaste Sverige.
