About Oslo
The Capital of Norway
From the refurbished waterfront of Aker Brygge to the hilltops of Holmenkollen, Oslo offers the traveller everything they could ever want: hip cafés and nightlife, a verdant landscape (Oslo is one of the most forested cities in the world) and a culture steeped in arts and history.
Oslo attractions are refined and laid-back. Enjoy a coffee and snack at one of the many cafés , take a stroll through the city centre on a warm summer's evening, gaze at one of Edvard Munch's "The Scream" paintings, which are on display in the Munch Museum and the National Museum of Art, Architecture and Design. Also be sure to get a dab of history at the open-air Norwegian Museum of Cultural History.
In August, daytime temperatures generally hovers around 20-30 degrees celcius, but evenings can get chilly at times, so remember to bring a jacket.
